how big is your betta's home? to add aquarium salt you use 1 heaping tablespoon dissolved in 5 gallons of water.
i would clean out his bowl and use the salt. its not 100% but its not as fatal as people are making it. i have had bettas that had it for a month and it didn't effect them eating or anything -- it just looked bad.
its caused by bacteria in the water -- the best way to prevent it is clean his bowl more frequently. If my beta fish's eye is puffed up with a clear coat over it.Is he going to die?How do i treat this?
thats not good go to pet store or walmart get a broad spectrum antibiotic. try it just watch ratio per gallons most are based on 10 gallon increments, be careful cuz bettas are usually in a lot smaller tank than that . good luckIf my beta fish's eye is puffed up with a clear coat over it.Is he going to die?How do i treat this?
It has eye-pop go to the fish store IMMEDIATELY OR IT WILL DIE
ummm...
I'm not very sure but,If you got him
like that he might have an eye problem,
or he got it injured or something.Or even maybe
your right he might die.
SORRY!
thats called pop-eye and is very contagious and fatal. you can get a medicine called fugi-cure or add aquarium salt. if it is really bad you will need mela-fix but usually its too late and it cant be helped eventually the eye will completely pop and kill your fish.
You need to do a 50% water change and add a little aquarium salt. It also doesn't hurt to turn the temperature up a little bit, try to keep it around 80-82 degrees. Never, ever, ever put antibiotics or any other chemicals in your aquarium!!! They will only kill everything else in there. If you go to a pet shop and tell them what is wrong they will sell you Maricyn or some other nonsense. When you use it it will drop you Ph levels and that will kill another fish and then they will sell you a Ph balancer and then that chemical will raise your ammonia levels and so and so on....all you need is water change, aquarium salt and good temps.
try putting aquariam salt in. if this doesnt help then you will most likely loose the fish
He's got pop-eye. You can get a treatment for him at your local fish store. Maracyn and Maracyn 2 should work. Just be careful how much you put in. Put a little less then what the directions say because if I remember right, it can hurt the labrynth in your Betta. Good luck!
