this all depends on the paint, gun type, product, theirs alot of factors to take into consideration. but if u speak with ur local paint store they will be able top provide u with a data sheet for the product u are using. on this sheet it will tell u all u need to now as far as gun pressure, type sizes, flash times everything u will need. as far as gun types a good paint gun helps but witha hvlp stay six to euight inches away from the panels while clearing and make sure ur overlap is consistent with a 50/50 overlap and keep the gun horizontal to all panels at all times. as far as prepping depending on what ur doin usually sand ur panels down with p400-p600 for paint. discoloration would not be a factor unless u do not follow ur flash times.
i work for penske automotive painting porsches but u always get peel and dirt so practice ur buffing skillsWhen painting a car, What is the proper way to apply clear coat to prevent peeling and discoloration ?
Clear cote is only used on certain paint types. if you have not bought paint yet talk to your dealer about a 2K paint it is a strong ,good shining paint
