The floor is engineered mahogany that i stained let it dry over 24hrs put a water based clearcoat and it was getting foggy in spots can you buff this out with a wax without stripping the entire floor. My water based clear coat is foggy in spots can i buff it out without sanding the entire stained floor.?
Foggy spots are an indication of moisture getting into the clearcoat. You can try rubbing with 000 steel wool on the spots and then recoat that area.My water based clear coat is foggy in spots can i buff it out without sanding the entire stained floor.?
that can happen when water based poly soaks into more porous areas of the wood. additional coats should even out the finish. this was unfinished engineered mahogany? usually engineered is pre-finished.
Hope that helps.
Read the Post on the web site listed below it should help.
