Bug and Tar remover. Apply fresh wax when done.
If its dried and hard on your car the surface might already be damaged... especially if in hot weather.
If your car is a late model try kerosene or if your careful laquer thinner will melt it right off.... but it will leave a dull mark which you can easily hand polish off with a clean cloth and a light cutting compound.
If its really bad you might need to clear the bulk of it off with a razor blade... no kidding! Put masking tape around the sharp corners of the blade and slice through the sap with the blade lying almost flat on the car.

The plastic covers are the worse. I am not aware of a sealant to prevent the return of the discoloration or ';fog';. You may need to use the cleaner and polish on a regular basis.my myspace

as long as you have wax on the car and the water beads(dime size) then wash away, Never use a high pressure hose or pressure washer, It turns the dirt on your car into a sand blaster and etches the clear coat in turn dauling your finish.

I don't think so. My dad is IN LOVE with his 2009 BMW M5 and he gets it washed every 2-3 days. It still looks great. Although he does get it regularly waxed really good. That probaly has something to do with it?

Really you can't. The paint thy use under the clear coat is a cheep paint to say the least. What thy do is use a cheep paint and cover it up with clear coat and then polish the clear coat giving it that luster. After the clear coat peals you will see what kind of paint is under neath, crappy paint.
