Can you put a clear coat over a border?

I have just finished painting my kitchen. I found a border that I would really like to put over the backsplash area. The counters already have a high lip but I know how dishwater flies and spagetti sauce bubbles, so I was wondering if I can put a clear coat over it to further protect it and make it easy to clean? Can you put a clear coat over a border?
Sure, but make sure you use one that is not oil based, since that kind could eat right through the paper.....Can you put a clear coat over a border?
Sound reasonable ..if fully dried first. If it's still damp when do it ..it could cause problems. Why not ask at Lowes or Home Depot when you go to buy the clear coat.
I have never tried it but before you do ask a professional at a store that sell borders.I would think it would bubble when the clear coat soaked in.Try a piece on some thing else to see if it will before you do it.And it you do it use Polyurethane water base sealer. Good luck.Hope you can.
Sure you can. If you use a good acrylic clear coat your wallpaper will stay crisp and clean.
