How can I fix the clear coat peeling off of my Chevrolet Silverado's hood?

There is a place on my 2000 Silverado's hood the size of a half dollar where the clear coat is peeling off. How can I fix it and prevent it from peeling off more? Thank YouHow can I fix the clear coat peeling off of my Chevrolet Silverado's hood?
Get some spray clear coat, sand around the edges of the peeling area with fine sand paper (600 grit and use water when you sand) then dry it good and lightly spray clear coat on the peeling part! How can I fix the clear coat peeling off of my Chevrolet Silverado's hood?
just have to have the entire hood redone. i had a saturn that the clearcoat was coming off. i asked around what can be done. just about all the paint shops said the same thing. the process of applying paint and clearcoat does not allow for just spraying clearcoat back on it. all the coatings kind of bond together, so when the clear starts coming off, the only way to correctly do it is to have the hood redone. you can get a can of clearcoat at your local parts store and apply it on that spot yourself, but youll be able to tell and its wont stop it from continuing to come off
Only way is to repaint the vehicle...at the very least the clear coat was not applied properly and would need to be redone..
First look for the recall list and see if there is a recall for clear coat.

If not file a complaint with GM/Chevrolet.

Try to get GM/Chevrolet to repair the clear coat.

If you do not get satisfaction, then file a complaint on this problem.

If you have to have it fixed, keep a record of the costs.

The only sure fix is to have the clear coat removed totally and apply a new clear coat. I would have a pro do this as runs and sags can ruin the value of the car.
