I repaired a flat painting and put ';Clear Antique Flat'; on the portion I repaired. It glares like an eggshell finish next to the original flat. I screwed up. HELPHow can I knock down the shine on a clear coat?
To match a section to a previous finish is very difficult. You will have to clean the uncoated area and apply a new coat of matte finish clear coat over the entire painting to get a uniform shine (matte finish). While the paint is drying you lightly stroke the coating with a dry brush to knock down the shine. How can I knock down the shine on a clear coat?
