How can I knock down the shine on a clear coat?

I repaired a flat painting and put ';Clear Antique Flat'; on the portion I repaired. It glares like an eggshell finish next to the original flat. I screwed up. HELPHow can I knock down the shine on a clear coat?
To match a section to a previous finish is very difficult. you could try and get a real light sand paper like 2000 and lightly sand over it wet the paper my dad is a body man and paints cars and i help him all the time so i know hope this helps = ]
