Does buffing your car in order to remove swirl marks lessens the amount and quality of your clear coat?

Any kind of buffing or cutting polish removes top coat.

You also have to be very careful on sharp edges and corners were the paint is thinner than on a flat panel.

If you machine buff these corners you will be down to primer in no time.Does buffing your car in order to remove swirl marks lessens the amount and quality of your clear coat?
Yes, buffing does remove a very tiny bit of clear coat but doesn't really affect anything. Just don't overbuff and burn the paint.Does buffing your car in order to remove swirl marks lessens the amount and quality of your clear coat?
Buffing your car shouldnt lessen the quality of your top coat at all.. to get rid of the swirly marks i would cut n polish it first then buff it... will give it a nice over all finish.
