Will a clear coat of paint stick to stickers?

I am trying to paint a couple of wakeboards to make one of those wakeboard benches you see in the stores. I am going to be buying used wakeboards so they are not that good looking. I was thinking I could paint them black, put stickers on them, and put a clear coat over that. I do not want to do all the work and then just have a messed up wakeboard bench. I want it to look good.Will a clear coat of paint stick to stickers?
The only concern I'd have is how shiny the stickers are. If they are really shiny try dulling the finish with very fine sand paper first. I'd experiment on an old board and stickers first.Will a clear coat of paint stick to stickers?
clear coat should work just fine.
