97 Lexus pearlwhite clearcoat. Thin black spraypaint in several spots, probably enamel, and wondering if there's some type of lacquer paint remover or compound that would remove it and not seriously damage the cars finish.?How can I remove black spraypaint from white clear coat auto paint finish without damaging or repainting?
Fingernail polish remover worked for meHow can I remove black spraypaint from white clear coat auto paint finish without damaging or repainting?
goo -gone will work just fine get it at the local hardware store. when done a good coat of wax over the area . good as new
Try a good quality cut polish Mothers makes a good 3 step polish sytstem.
look for wipes called graffiti wipes to remove it. I use them at work for rental trucks that got graffiti on them
try bug and tar remover. if the spray paint is fresh, it should work
Never use paint remover of any type. Try with some very fine polishing compound with light buffing pressure.
If that doesn't work try a mild buffing compound with a soft micro fiber cloth , polish out the buff marks with a clean microfiber cloth and polishing compound.
Be careful the clear coat is not very thick.
Mothers makes a product with a yellow clay bar in it(costs about $20 @ Walmart). Spray on the wax that comes with it. Rub with the clay bar and it WILL take off all the overspray. I used a couple of bars and it wasnt even scratching the car. I was amazed! If you drop the bar, it is garbage. It will pick up junk off the ground.
I would take it to someone that knows how to run a buffer. The best way would be to sand the paint off with 1000 grit paper and then buff. You may be able to clay it and remove it. i would not want any chemicals on my paint.
Try some VERY fine rubbing compound.
