My husband is clearcoating over some airbrush painting he did on motorcycle parts. About a minute after he sprays the clearcoat, some spots are covered in cracks. He's soooo frustrated. Help!Why is fresh clear coat cracking?
Too much hardener. Wrong reducer (too fast drying), or thinner ratio, for the temperature. Force drying. Humidity issues. Mixing Enamel and Lacquer paint, especially if the undercoat hasn't thoroughly cured.Why is fresh clear coat cracking?
the temperature will cause that too happen,another thing that will cause it is moisture,if he didn't drain the air compressor it may be misting water with the clear coat,the only thing he can do is let t dry and re-sand it and try it again,temperature is really important when clear coating,good luck.
