Just applied base coat of auto spray paint, small blemishes, need to clear coat, Do I sand

I finished the base coat yesterday, but there are little blemishes here and there, but I do not have enough paint to re-coat them.





Do I sand it and hope for the best or clear coat it now. If sanding, what type of grit?Just applied base coat of auto spray paint, small blemishes, need to clear coat, Do I sand
alright blemishes, you can wetsand with 1000 grit..


the whole surface





it should all be a uniform flat color


if that dosent take it out drop to wet 600 grit it all depends how thick you laid the paint on you obivously dont want to burn through it ';sand down to the primer';


and if you do .. go get some more paint, you will have to live with thoes blemishes after you put the clear on





you can add a little bit of dish soap to your water when wet sanding to help it glide a little better





after you lay on the clear you can wet sand with 1500 and or 2000 grit


and buff it out with rubbing compound





the main objective in sanding the whole thing is removing orange peel


';the smoother the surface the more shiny it will be';





you can always leave the improfections spray a buttload of coats of clear and wet sand it untill u cant see them anymore, but it just depends how big the improfections are

if you sand you will have to re-spray the entire panel and hope it matches.metallics hardly ever work right and remember if you sand be prepared to re-tape and re-prep the entire car or you will cause yourself even more headaches
no don't sand that will ruin it and just get the regular sand paper it will work fine I'm an artist
