How do you tell if scraches are through the clear coat of a black car?

Yea. Just try to wax it off in a circular motion a couple of times with verry good wax composite. i recommend meguires. and if it is still there then its through the clear coat. And i dont recoment the scratch stick they sell of tv. If you use that there will have to be some sort of line where the scratch is.How do you tell if scraches are through the clear coat of a black car?
look at it cant miss it easy wax/ buff it and if its stil there its a scrach
