Im gonna get my car painted, what will be the difference if i get a clear coat and if i dont get one?

Clear coat is more expensive but i dont want to get the cheaper one and not have it be shiny. is paint without clear coat still shiny?and what does clear coat do to the cars paint?Im gonna get my car painted, what will be the difference if i get a clear coat and if i dont get one?
the clear coat protects the paint and it is easier to fix scratches without having the car completly repainted. the extra money now will probably save you time and money in the long run. and it wont be as shiny without it.Im gonna get my car painted, what will be the difference if i get a clear coat and if i dont get one?
Clear coat is kind of a protectant for the paint.

If you've ever seen someone paint their car with a good, ol' fashioned rattle can, I assume your car would look like that without clear coat.

Not sure exactly how it would look, but I'm sure it would be undesirable.

Also, the clear coat will make the paint job last much, much longer.

By all means, go with the clear coat.
clear coat last a lot longer and looks better and is way more easier to take care of, i paint once in a while and id rather do a clear coat paint job as an acrylic enamel one any day,the clear coat stands up to the weather a whole lot better, and its easier to get it to shine,in some cases its cheaper to get one painted with clear coat than regular enamel, good luck.
Bottom line is you'll get what you pay for. Without clear coat you get enamel which is like a base coat with the clear already mixed in. The enamel usually looks almost as good. You'll just have to wax and buff more and it's got a shorter life span.
Clear-coating is supposed to prevent=fading %26amp; to protect fresh paint from the elements.
no shine and it will pretty much look like crap
