I tried to wax a friends car that had a bad clear coat paint and now it has a big old white spot on it. Please help!!!!! I am in big trouble. I thought I would be nice and see if waxing would help the bad clear coat, but now it made it 10 time worse. How do i remove Wax that is on a bad Clear Coat Paint?
Get an electric buffer. How do i remove Wax that is on a bad Clear Coat Paint?
I dont' think it's a bad clear coat paint. It sounds like the paint is oxydized--meaning it probably had a milky, whitish look to it before you waxed it. If it did, you can still get the wax out but it'll take a lot of elbow grease or a buffer. Don't wax a car in the sun if the paint looks oxydized either--that just helps the wax stick and makes it much more difficult to remove.
If buffing doesn't do it, take it to a self-serve carwash that has the nozzle and put it on the jet spray setting and just keep blasting the area where the wax is stuck in the paint.
(Believe me, I'm speaking from my own bad experience of a car with oxydized paint.)
If you're able to get all of it off, next time you decide to wax a car with a deteriorated paint job, you'd need to use compound first to remove all the bad crap on top of the paint including the oxydized paint. It doesn't take all your paint off, but it will leave the same color of the car on your rag so don't panic if you have a rag that's got the same color as your car's paint after compounding it. Again, do NOT do this in the sun, and do a small area first to make sure it's helping. If you do compound (usually only the horizontal surfaces get that bad oxyidation), you absolutely have to wax those areas afterwards.
Good luck--it'll come out with a lot of work if you didn't load it up with wax in the first place.
Did you wax fresh clearcoat? Fresh clearcoat should not be waxed for 30 days.
If you want to remove the wax then use wax and grease remover. DuPont makes a good product called PrepSol. You can find it at an auto parts/paint store.
try dish soap. It removes wax.
