Is there a clear coat or something you can use on a polished aluminum toolbox to preserve the shine?

I have a diamond plate aluminum toolbox on the back of my truck. Is the a way to keep from having to scrub it down with polish over and over again? I was thinking like a clear coat paint but dont know if that would be good idea or not. Thanks for all you help. I appreciate it!Is there a clear coat or something you can use on a polished aluminum toolbox to preserve the shine?
well u could but baby oil on it but then it collects dust or try the clear coat paint it will keep the luster but it wears off fast... i use a cleaner from Castrol its in a purple jug can't think of the name but its at Autozone and its a degreaser concentrate and its hines the stacks and rims on my diesel up very nicely... look at the pics

Alumaclear is a product we apply to aluminum tanker trucks, etc. which is proven to not flake off or peal if properly applied. It's available in a spray can for smaller applications such as yours. www.alumaclear.com
yes you can get a clear metal lacquer that can be sprayed on this surface and will prevent tarnishing. one such product is ';incralaq'; by watyll but most paint brands have a similar product.
