I'm currently majoring in Metal and Jewelry Design and am very passionate about jewelry and making it. I really want to make polymer clay gauge earrings and have never done so before. I want to know what would be the best and safest product to use as the clear coat for the earrings and/or any other polymer jewelry pieces I may make? What kind of clear coat should I use for polymer earrings?
For the past 10 years I have been using Future Floor Finish to coat beads and ornaments. Just brush it on after baking and it leaves them with an acrylic finish which is quite shiny. Helps protect the clay as well. What kind of clear coat should I use for polymer earrings?
The result of baking polymer clay is PVC plastic and should not require clear coat.
