I have a '94 Saturn SC2 and the clear coat is starting to peel pretty good. I also have little dots of rust that's starting to show up on my hood. What do I do about clear coat that's peeling of of my car?
get to body shop. What do I do about clear coat that's peeling of of my car?
If your clear coat is pealing......and you have spots of rust on it ...immediately sand the rust spots and apply a little bit of spray paint primer...so the rust does not spread....then as soon as possible get the whole car re-painted and another coat of clear. If you leave this undone....pretty soon you will own a genuine RUST BUCKET
get it repainted or get a new car.
Keep it out of the SUN!!! Putting a car under the sun all day long is the worse thing you could do to a car. If you have a car cover use it, everyday, anytime you're going to be under the sun. If the clear coat is already peeling, there's not much you can do about it and you'll probably have to get it repainted.
Plus your car is pretty old so it's only natural for it to start to peel. The rust spots you need to take care of immediately, take it to some paint shops and get estimates, but for a quick fix for the rust, clear finger nail polish. put a few coats of that on it to help it stop rusting.
that means you need a body work
you need to repaint your car,has to be sanded down and repainted as clear coat was not properly done.If you bouht it used resently retun to dealer and have him do it as he didn't do a good job.
