I used the model car spray paint from Michael's and I want to finish with a nice glossy clear coat. I didn't see much on Google. Ideas/experiences?Best way to clear coat a pinewood derby car?
Krylon is a good brand - check Walmart, or If you have a Hobby Lobby nearby, go to their website and download the 40% discount coupon.
With any spray-on, make sure is gloss and not matte finish.
Test first with the paint you used on the car - a paint paddle should do for testing (they are free in the paint department at Walmart, Lowes or Home Depot). After the paint is completely dry, try the spray on clear coat.

Spray Painting Tips:
Work outside or in the garage if possible - stay away from open flames.
These sites are for model cars, but the set-up for painting is the same for pretty much anything small that you want to spray paint.

I would recommend a simple polyurethane finish. It is inexpensive, and can be found, in an aerosol can or a brush on application, at any hardware store(probably available at a hobby store also if you want to pay more).
Use polyetherane Spray in a can. It will go on evener and easier than a paint brush.
